My favorite feel-good emails (with zero cancer talk)
From the Sunday Self-Care Chronicles | 8/31/25
This week’s Sunday Self-Care Chronicles is about inbox joy—the rare kind of email you want to open. I’m sharing two of my favorite lists that have nothing to do with cancer and everything to do with feeling good: “Notes from the Universe” and “The Good Trade.”
✨ Cosmic love notes that always seem to land just right
✨ A women-curated newsletter with quick reads, recipes, and inspiration
✨ A list of 99 things to do instead of scrolling your phone
✨ A peek at my Italian vacation (and what’s coming next!)
Read the full email below - and if something speaks to you please feel free to comment, share, or reach out!
Happy Sunday dear one!
I know that the last thing most of us are looking for is another email in our inbox but I'd like to offer a couple of email lists that I actually look forward to every day that have nothing to do with cancer and everything to do with feeling good and taking care of yourself.
First up meet “Notes from the Universe”! According to creator and author Mike Dooley:
The Notes are brief emails written by “The Universe,” personalized with your name (and occasionally your goals and dreams), designed to remind you that you have, indeed, been given dominion over all things.
Every Monday through Friday I wake up to a little love note from “The Universe” that typically feels like a warm hug wrapped in a smile.
They are often short, sweet, and silly, and somehow always seem to land in just the right way.
If you could use a reminder that you are cosmically loved and that we are all part of something bigger and truly magical, then I suggest checking them out (and don't forget to always scroll down and read the P.S. if you do!).
Next up is “The Good Trade” newsletter:
An award-winning, 30-second daily newsletter with original essays, soothing playlists, nourishing recipes, non-toxic product reviews, and more. Curated by women, for women.
I love that this is a quick glimpse of interesting articles, items, and more to skim through and then decide what gets my attention.
Honestly some days I glance over the email and hit “delete," no harm, no foul.
But other days they'll have something that really grabs my attention, like this recent blog post:
99 Alternatives To Scrolling On Your Phone
I have literally thought to myself “I need to make a list of things to do other than scroll” but of course I've never done it (I've probably been too busy scrolling to stop and write the damn list).
So here is a comprehensive list of ideas divided into categories ranging from creative to productive.
Now I'm not saying you have to completely give up the scroll - sometimes a little mindless doomscrolling, or even better joyscrolling - can be a nice distraction…
BUT if you've ever felt like your phone might be a little too addictive or hurting your mental health this is worth checking out even if you don't sign up for their list.
Ok, that's it for today.
I'm halfway through my Italian vacation and loving every minute of fresh air, mountain scenery, amazing wine, and lots of downtime!
Next week I'll be sharing the first announcement about a new program I'm working on that I think is going to be a game changer when it comes to breast cancer self-care.
I can't wait to share it with you and hope that August has been as good to you as you all are to me.
Even from far away, I'm always in this with you.
ps. Do you have a favorite feel good email list that you love? Hit reply and share it with me please! I'm always up for inbox joy :)
