The world is loud. Here’s your quiet.
From the Sunday Self-Care Chronicles | 10/12/25
This week’s Sunday Self-Care Chronicles is a gentle “best of” for when life feels heavy. The world may keep changing, but the practices that bring us back to calm, connection, and hope remain the same.
This issue includes:
✨ A reminder that our bodies know how to heal, even through heartbreak
✨ The importance of rest as preparation, not reward
✨ The power of holding lightly and making space for change
✨ A nervous-system reset you can do anytime, anywhere

Hello dear one.
As planned, I'm continuing to share my “best of” collections this month and it was so funny to look back at old writings and see how much the more things change, the more they stay the same.
With the onset of October and the official entry of fall here in the northeast, I'm hearing and seeing a lot of heaviness in the people I encounter as well as the world at large.
So if you’ve felt flat, foggy, or just… heavy lately, you’re not alone.
It seems that between the change of seasons, the churn of the news cycle, and everyone’s personal anniversaries and stresses, our nervous systems are once again working overtime.
That's why this week, I’m sharing a “Best Of: When Times Are Hard.”
These pieces aren’t new—but that’s the point. The circumstances change; the practices that help us through don’t.
Think of this collection as a small, steadying hand on your shoulder with both thoughtful insight and practical tips for navigating the day to day.
BLOG: When the world is burning…
On generational scars, leading with values, and simple ways to care for yourself when the news won’t let up.
→ Honor your scars. Rest on purpose. Live your values. Ask for help.
BLOG: Embracing Seasonal Change & Prioritizing Rest
A reframe for this time of year: rest isn’t a reward for “finishing”; it’s preparation for what’s ahead.
→ Nature is winding down. You’re allowed to, too.
BLOG: Accepting the Nature of Change for Hope & Healing
Change is the rule, not the exception—especially after breast cancer. Loosen the grip, make space, and let hope in.
→ “Hold lightly” so your present can breathe and your future can arrive.
EMAIL: The Bubble Effect: More Balance, Less Stress
A practical way to shift from fight-or-flight into balance: create a bubble of calm (no phone, no news, comfort only).
→ Time + space = the conditions for homeostasis and healing.
Also, try this today (2 minutes, tops)
unclench your jaw, drop your shoulders
lengthen your exhale (in for 4, out for 6—five rounds)
pick one tiny boundary for your bubble (e.g., no news after 7pm)
drink a glass of water and step outside for 60 seconds
Small things count. Small things add up.
As always I invite you to take what you want from this email and leave the rest.
I'll be creating my own bigger “bubble” of time and space this weekend - 3 days camping with a friend. If you've never heard of “the 3 day effect” I highly recommend looking into it!
Next week I'll be back with my favorite body-based practical self-care tips and tactics so stay tuned!
And remember, I am always in this with you….
ps. One little thing I'm doing to lighten my mood is unabashedly lovingthe new Taylor Swift album. It took a few listens to come around but now it feels like a total BOP and I'm here for it! 🧡❤️🔥🩵
